Clarissa Magnolia Wilbourn, age 61, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2022, at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center in Dyersburg, Tennessee. She was born February 29, 1960, to Mary C. Ball Johnson and the late Willie Johnson Jr. in Caruthersville, Missouri. She was the oldest of seven children.
Clarissa attended Washington High School in Caruthersville, Missouri. She loved to create and write short stories which led to her creative short story called "Life Train". She worked as a blackjack dealer for Casino Aztar in Caruthersville, Missouri for many years.
Clarissa married Jessie Wilbourn on March 30, 2007 but was together 24 years of her life. She truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family and spending time with her grandchildren.
She leaves to mourn her loss her husband: Jessie Wilbourn; her mother: Mary C. Johnson of Caruthersville, Missouri; one son: Lamar (Kim) Northern of Shepherdsville, Kentucky; four daughters: Countessa L. Mitchell of Blytheville, Arkansas, Naomi Northern of Caruthersville, Missouri, Stacey R. Northern of Caruthersville, Missouri, and Mary C. Northern of Caruthersville, Missouri; two stepchildren: Jessie Wilbourn Jr. of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Jessyca Rogers of Steele, Missouri; four brothers: Willie K. (Andrea) Johnson of Pennsylvania, Hosie (Shiley) Johnson of Texas, Michael Johnson of North Carolina, and Marlon (Marquetta) Johnson of Mayfield, Kentucky; two sisters: Abalene (James) Wilbourn of Missouri and Elisa Johnson of Caruthersville, Missouri; 21 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Clarissa is preceded in death by her father: Willie Johnson Jr; and three grandchildren: Magnolia Northern, Isabella Northern, and Milani Northern.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 29th, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Paul MB Church with Elder Willie Burke Franklin officiating. Interment followed in Morgan Ridge Cemetery in Caruthersville, Missouri. H. S. Smith Funeral Home in charge of services.
