Chris Storey Obituary

Chris Storey was born February 28, 1947, in Caruthersville, Missouri. He was raised by Grace & Jimbo McElroy.

He departed this life in Jonesboro, Arkansas on September 25, 2021. He was 74 years old.

Chris graduated with the class of 1965 from Caruthersville High School. He proudly served in the Missouri National Guard for 6 years, from 1966 to 1973.

On October 14, 1967, he was united in marriage for 53 years to Linda Frazho.

Chris enjoyed Caruthersville sports. He broadcast live tiger football games from the stadium and did radio football and basketball away games alongside Cleat Stanfill. He was the owner/operator of Chris's Men Shop for several years and worked with the Retail Merchants Association. He enjoyed woodworking and made many rocking horses, rocking motorcycles, hutches, crosses, and cabinets. He was a collector of guns, pistols, rifles, and ducks. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited.

He is survived by his wife: Linda Storey of Caruthersville, MO; one dearly loved daughter: Cara Storey of Caruthersville, MO; two sisters-in-law: Deborah Avis & her husband, Joe, of Florida, & Joan Ross of Springfield, MO; his granddog: Darlyn; a niece: Anna Ross Hertel & her husband Josh and their children – Reese, Dallas & Ross; nephew: Matthew Avis & his wife, Kristan, and their son Quinn; a great niece: Jenna Ross McCollom; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a nephew, Bill Ross.

A gathering of family and friends was held October 2nd, 2022, from 1-3 pm at H. S. Smith Chapel in Caruthersville, Missouri.
