Charles Dodson Obituary
Charles Thomas Dodson was born in McDougal, Arkansas on December 3, 1943. He was the son of Richard Dodson and Alice Benefield Dodson.
He departed this life at his home in Caruthersville, Missouri on March 16, 2021. He was 77 years old.
Charles graduated from Steele High School in 1962. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force. He proudly served his country for four years. He received his honorable discharge on August 13, 1968 at Carswell Air Force Base in Texas.
On August 16, 1968 at the Pilgrim Holiness Church, in Caruthersville, MO, he was united in marriage to Louise Smithson.
Charles was an active member of the Caruthersville Wesleyan Church for 50 years. During this time he served as Superintendent and Treasurer and then as secretary until he could no longer attend church actively.
Charles passionately loved his wife and family. He enjoyed having all his family over for every holiday. He enjoyed traveling with family. He also enjoyed watching TV with a bowl of ice cream.
Survived by - his wife - Louise Dodson
Daughter - Shelly Yarbrough and her husband, Brent
2 granddaughters - Kensley and Kadence Yarbrough
His siblings - Billy Ray Dodson and his wife, Linda, Sherry Greenway and her husband, Dennis, Janet Middleton and her husband, Duke, Ricky Dodson
Many nieces and nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents - Richard and Alice Dodson, and siblings - Agnes Smith, Eugene Dodson, Donald Dodson, Martha Kelly, Jerry Dodson, and Jimmy Dodson.
Funeral services will be Thursday at the Caruthersville Wesleyan Church.
