Charles Allen Davis was born in Hayti, Missouri, on September 21, 1960. He was the son of Richard Davis and Carolyn Christian Davis.
He departed this life, surrounded by his family, on January 20, 2026. He was 65 years old.
Charles graduated from Caruthersville High School and then went to University of Tennessee at Martin on a baseball scholarship. His baseball career was cut short because of a knee injury.
Charles began working for the St. Francis Levee District. During his 40 plus years, he worked his way up to supervisor.
Charles was a pillar of the Caruthersville community. He served as baseball commissioner for many years. He spent countless hours working at the baseball field as an umpire, cooking hamburgers, working the field, and anything else that needed to be done. He also refereed football games for many years. After he “retired” from refereeing he was always in the stands for Caruthersville Tiger sports. He was also a huge Pittsburg Steeler football fan.
Charles had a very deep faith in Christ. He was a faithful member of Eastwood Memorial United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his daughter: Allison Renee Boone and her husband, Scott; two sisters: Ann Harmon and her husband, Johnny, & Kristy White; his nieces and nephews – Kristin Morgan and her husband, Nathan, Anna Sands and her husband, Ian, Jeremy Harmon and his wife, Jennifer, Richard Harmon and his wife, Jannie, & Keith Davis; great nieces and nephews: Kate Morgan, Derrick Morgan, Logan Sands, Bryce Strawn, Olivia Harmon, & Carlee Davis; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents – Richard and Carolyn Davis, his son – Ward Christian Davis, granddaughter – Justice Marie Rogers, brother-in-law – Jim White, his uncle and aunt – Billy Jack & Louetta Davis, and cousins – Billy Dale Davis and Linda Davis Montgomery.
