Cecil E. Boyd Jr., 85, of Hannibal, passed away at 9:30 PM, Sunday, January 18, 2026, at University Hospital Columbia in Columbia, MO.
Cecil was born June 29, 1940, in Monessen, PA to Cecil E. Boyd Sr. and Erma Wilt Boyd.
He was married to Loretta Lebo on August 2, 1960, in Deering, MO. She preceded him in death on July 23, 2009.
Survivors include his three children, Cathy Brockman (Alan) of Caruthersville, MO, David Boyd (Carla) of Hannibal, MO, and Jennifer Boyd of Caruthersville, MO; two sisters, Janet Wagner (Larry) and Naomi Guth; seven grandchildren, Steven Burkeen, Margaret Burton, Rickey Lynn Riley, Laura Fogle, Luke Boyd, Levi Boyd, and Landon Boyd; and several great grandchildren.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Susan Riley; one brother, Martin Boyd; and one sister, Faith Vayansky.
Cecil proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force.
Cecil first retired from Brown Shoe Factory where he worked for over 30 years. He later retired from Trinity Marine in 2010, where he was a security guard.
An avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cecil rarely missed watching his favorite teams play and cheering them to victory. Cecil's love for television brought him daily doses of joy and entertainment. The Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune, Survivor, and The Young and the Restless were among his favorites. Cecil's culinary skills were unmatched when he was behind the grill. Cecil loved entertaining and hosting dinners for his family and friends. Most of all, Cecil cherished the times spent with his family and he will be deeply missed.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the H.S. Smith Funeral Chapel in Caruthersville, Missouri, with David Boyd officiating. Interment to follow in Maple Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m.
