Carolyn Annette Howard was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, on January 24, 1943. She was the daughter of Holly Howard and Mildred Lucille Butler Howard.
She departed this life on July 21, 2025, in Steele, Missouri. She was 82 years old.
Carolyn loved Dum Dum suckers with blue being her favorite. She was the oldest of eight siblings and would often end the day telling them, “I love you a bushel and a peck, with a hug around your neck and don’t let any flies bite you. Good night.”
She had a strong faith in Jesus Christ.
She is survived by three sisters and one brother: Judy Redden, Alice Best, David Reno, and Phyllis Jane Durham; quite a few nieces and nephews: Sheila, Raymond, Reggie, Carol, Melissa, Wesley, Sandy, Connie, RaElla, Shawna, Beverly, James, Jimmy, Jennifer, Mark, Elisa, Jana, Kim, Danny Paul and Christian; other relatives including great nieces and nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters – Shirley Foster and Pamela Sherrill, and a brother – Mark Reno.
Graveside services will be held Friday, July 25, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in Maple Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 9:30 a.m. in the H.S. Smith Funeral Chapel.
