Betty Jean “B.J.” Smith

Betty Jean (B.J.) Smith was born May 27, 1964, in St. Louis, Missouri. She was the daughter of Charles Newton Wright and Lou Ella Bailey Wright.

She departed this life in Caruthersville, Missouri on January 15, 2021. She was 56 years old.

B. J. was a lady that loved people. She worked as a waitress at many places in Caruthersville and it was a perfect job for her. There were no strangers in her life. She made everyone feel important and loved. She enjoyed watching her "soaps" everyday including Young and Restless and General Hospital. Her greatest pleasure was her grandkids.

8 grandchildren - Alexander Huckleba, Camille Huckleba, Tommy Huckleba, Bella Shelton, Sarah Smith, Camille Smith, Abigail Smith, Erik Lucy, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers - Tommy Wright and Jerry Head, and 2 sisters - Roberta Miller, and Julie McCall

Memorial services held Jan. 22, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at H.S. Smith Chapel with Rev. Shawn Harding officiating.
