Betty Jean (Wattle) Gregory

Betty Jean Gregory was born in Concord, Missouri, on December 13, 1932.  She was the daughter of Finus Wattle and Rachel Lovett Wattle.

She departed this life on November 12, 2025, in Dyersburg, Tennessee.  She was 92 years old.

Betty was united in marriage to George Ralph Gregory on December 24, 1949, in Piggott, Arkansas.  He preceded her in death.

Betty enjoyed country music, especially Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn.   She enjoyed bowling and playing cards. 

Her greatest love was her family. 

She is survived by one son: Don Gregory (Patricia); four sisters: Mary Tacheira, Dorthy Salado (Sal), Gloria Sutherland, & Jerri Milligan (Mike); one brother: Ronnie Wattle (Linda); one grandson: Matthew Gregory (Jennifer); two granddaughters: Grace Gregory & Ada Gregory; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents – Finus and Rachel Wattle, her husband – George Gregory, and two brothers – Arlee Wattle & Charles Wattle.

Graveside services will be held Friday, November 14, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Little Prairie Cemetery in Caruthersville, Missouri.

H.S. Smith Funeral Home in charge of services.
