Amy Leigh Pursch was born in Portsmouth, VA, on April 7, 1969. She was the daughter of Marvin Barksdale, Jr. and Martha Sharp Hudgens.
She departed this life in Hayti, MO, on June 25, 2026. She was 57 years old.
Amy was a lady that had a wonderful giving personality. She had a big heart that was always willing to help anyone. She loved listening to music, spending time reading, and playing games on her phone.
Amy was very detail oriented and would do research on anything.
She loved animals, especially cats.
She is survived by three children: London Bridges Evans, Steven Ray Clark and his wife, Tiffany, and Jessica Helton and her husband, Nathan; one sister: Lisa Dodd and her husband, Brian; four brothers: Dane Barksdale and his wife, Carol, Mel Barksdale and his wife, Barbara, Chris Barksdale, and Phillip Barksdale and his wife, Adrian; six grandchildren: Natalie, Willow, Dakota, Owen, and Cheyenne Evans, and Gwenlyn Helton, who she was able to see often.
The family would like to thank Angie Constant and her staff for all their help.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the H.S. Smith Funeral Chapel with Brother Jim Pilcher officiating.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m.
